Pumpkin Carving!

We carved our great big pumpkin! I had lots of fun blowing bubbles on the pumpkin, climbing on it, looking inside, and even reaching my hand right in!

First I was happy to have the pumpkin guts sitting next to me. But then I realized Mommy and Daddy wanted me to HOLD the stuff that was inside. I got myself on guard and ready to fight, and then before I knew it Daddy made me touch it!! It was pretty gross, and I made such a mess wiping my hands off that Mommy and Daddy decided enough was enough until next year!

Mommy and Daddy decided to do a "Halloweenie" carving since Spike's 6th birthday is in a couple of days. Here's our finished pumpkin!

Rainbow Brite

Today we went to get my pictures taken in the Halloween costume Mommy made me. Don't I make the cutest Rainbow Brite you've ever seen??? Mommy and Daddy were so proud because it is the first professional portrait we've had done where I was standing up and not hanging on to anything!

Pumpkin Patch

Last night we went to our neighborhood's pumpkin patch to pick out our pumpkin for Halloween.

I liked blowing bubbles on the pumpkins, but I really didn't want to touch anything, especially the weird bumpy gourds that Mommy kept handing to me! And I really didn't understand why she kept sitting me in scratchy hay!

After some searching, we found our pumpkin, and it's the best one we've ever had! It's big and round, and it weighs 40 pounds!

A Very Long Day

I had two doctor appointments today and it turned into a very long day! I saw the GI doctor this morning, and we were there almost two hours. We only saw the doctor for literally 5 minutes. He said I looked great and I was growing really well...we waited two hours for that! We already knew that!

Then we had two hours to kill before my second appointment, so we met up with Aunt Tracie and had lunch. Mommy took me to the pediatrician's office to get my flu shot. Normally, she takes me to the free Centra Care events so that we can both get one (Daddy's too chicken). But this year since my pediatrician's office got them in early, we went there instead. Mommy said we won't do that again! We waited for an hour and 15 minutes, just so we could see the nurse for less than a minute when she gave me my shot.

I did really well and Mommy was very proud of me. But she was frustrated that it took so long! The free flu shot event in our area was today, and we missed it because we spent all day in the waiting rooms. So now Mommy has to go pay for a flu shot somewhere. They're not expensive, but it sure isn't free! Mommy said if we'd known the event was going to be on the same day, we could have gone to my morning appointment, then gone right to the Centra Care and gotten both of our flu shots for free. We would have both been done with it and home hours ago! That's what we'll do from now on...lesson learned!

Daddy's Spitfire

Yesterday we went to Mommy's friend Lisa's house for her birthday party. I was hanging on Daddy all day, being his precious little girl. (I heard rumors I might have competition soon, so I figured I should start being extra sweet).

But then I was full of energy and I gave Daddy quite a workout for over an hour! Anytime he'd try to put me down I would do a flying leap back on to his lap or his leg!

Finally I got distracted with my new umbrella stroller and I pushed that around for a little while so Daddy could catch his breath!

Oh, and here's Lisa's cake...it survived the trip (and Daddy's driving) to Leesburg!

My Shoe Laces are Back!

Today when Mommy dressed me for school, she put me in my pink tennis shoes that tie instead of velcro. I had forgotten how much fun shoe laces could be! Daddy said I cracked myself up all the way to school, and he took a picture of me with his phone to send to Mommy.

A+ For Me!!!

Mommy came to my school today for my IEP meeting (individualized education plan). This is the plan that we write up each year that has several goals in different areas so my teachers and therapists know specifically what they should be working on with me. Usually Mommy leaves a little disappointed because I hardly ever accomplish the goals and they have to be carried over or rewritten.

BUT NOT THIS TIME!! The goals had to be rewritten all right, but that's because I "mastered" 7 out of the 11 goals with 90% achievement or higher! Hooray for me! Mommy is very proud because she knows I have been working so hard! This report is going on the fridge! =)

Building the Baby's Room

On Saturday and Sunday, Daddy and Uncle Shawn worked hard on building the new baby's room. They got a lot done! They built the big wall and started on the closet. Today, they are going to run the air conditioning into the new room. If you haven't been to our house in a while, the baby's room is our old living room at the back of the house. In the picture below, the entertainment center was in front of the window, the couches on the left and right side, etc.

Mommy thought it was funny that she caught Uncle Shawn shielding his head in that picture!

Here are Daddy and Uncle Shawn while they were putting up the drywall on the new wall.

And here's what Mommy worked on all day, since she was absolutely no help to the boys! It's a big 2' x 3' canvas for above our couch in the living room.
