My Yucky Nose

Mommy had to pick me up early from school on Wednesday because I had a bad bloody nose. But Miss Maria did every thing just right, so I was in a pretty good mood when Mommy got there 20 minutes later. It's a 30 minute drive, so I think she must have driven really fast to get to me! Since then I have been having little nosebleeds here and there. The director at school asked Mommy if the nosebleeds were behavioral. Meaning, was I starting them on purpose to get my way when I am mad. Boy, Mommy wasn't happy with that question. But she said she took a deep breath and explained that I have no control over them, and I hate getting the nosebleeds. Why would I intentionally start one?!

Anyway, other than the nosebleeds, I am doing well and I am happy that school is done for the summer. Now I get to tear my house apart all day!

Hooray!

When Mommy picked me up from school yesterday, Miss Maria told her that I ate every single bite of all of my food! Mommy and Miss Maria were laughing and hugging. They looked pretty silly! Miss Maria told her I was happy the whole time I was eating too. And I really was! It's a good thing Mommy was picking me up early, because I didn't have any food left for snack time later.

I was mad when I realized Mommy was picking me up though. I saw all of my friends laying on their special beds for naptime, and I wanted to lay on mine! But Mommy said sorry, we had to go. So I yelled at her and hit her all the way to the car! Not very nice of me, I know, but it's hard for me to deal with interruptions to my routine. And Mommy said it actually made her kind of happy that I didn't want to leave! Everything went fine at the doctor's office, and I am officially cleared for surgery. Yippee. :o)

School Lunch Update

I know you all are wondering...did I eat at school yesterday or not? Well, I did! Remember, the speech therapist is on vacation, so Mommy was a little concerned that all the hard work last week wouldn't continue into this week. My teacher Miss Maria is my favorite of all my teachers though, so I decided to do a good job. I ate all of my pudding! I did not want to eat my vegetables for her, but Mommy said that was no big deal anyway. Because I never even ate one bite of pudding for them before! Mommy says hopefully we won't have to start over when school starts in August. I'll have to wait and see. :o)

Also, today I have an appointment with my pediatrician to get medical clearance for my eye surgery. It should't be any big deal, but I will probably be mad about it anyway! Mommy also has a ton of forms for him to sign for the new school year, like permission to do tube feedings and breathing treatments for my asthma.

I Did It Again!

Sorry for the late update...I didn't write yesterday because we lost our power for 2 hours in the bad storm. I played outside with my friend Thomas and his mom because it felt nicer out there than it did in our houses!

Anyway, so Mommy came to school again to spend lunch time with me. The speech therapist didn't wear any gloves on this time. I only complained for about one second before the first bite of food, but then I quickly gave in and ate it! It was all downhill from there! Mommy never had to feed me one bite of food, and she even snuck away halfway through the second jar. I pretended not to notice, and I kept right on eating! I ate every single bite of both jars of food! Then I actually napped during naptime...I was fat and happy!

Mommy didn't send me to school today though, because I was up really late last night. Probably because I took a nap earlier in the day! Mommy put me to bed at 8:00 but I didn't fall asleep until after 11:00. She didn't want to wake me up at 6:30 this morning, so she let me sleep and I slept until 8:30! I'm glad she kept me home, because I needed the rest! I will let you know how my lunch time goes on Monday...

I Ate At School!

Yesterday, Mommy came to my school at lunch time to see if that would help with me refusing to eat for them. I am eating for just about everyone at home now, but I was still not eating at school. I tried to eat for the speech therapist when Mommy was there yesterday, but I was just so upset about it. So Mommy came back today to try again. Still, I was upset and would only eat for Mommy. I like the speech therapist, and I laugh and smile when we are playing peek-a-boo and patty cake.

Mommy said, "Just out of curiosity, has anybody here ever tried to feed her without the latex gloves on?" Miss Laura said no, and she took her glove off. So I decided to take a bite! Mommy told Miss Laura to put the glove back on, and guess what? I slapped the spoon away! So Miss Laura took it off again, and I ate the rest of the pudding and all of my sweet corn casserole for her! Mommy sat right there, cheering and clapping, and so did the rest of my friends in my class! I was the star of the show!

Mommy also suggested this time that they let me wear a play necklace during meals because they keep me happy and a little distracted but they don't get in the way of the feeding. I wore one today and maybe it helped? So Mommy is going to pack one in my lunch box every day. :o) That's what they use to get me standing in physical therapy, so why not use it to get me eating in speech therapy?! Mommy is coming back tomorrow to see if we have even more success. She's hoping I will take the first bite from Miss Laura instead of from Mommy.

I like when Mommy comes for lunch. I get to have a full belly, she gives me lots of hugs and kisses, and then she takes me home early from school!

Surgery #8

Well, here we are again...time for another surgery. On August 3rd I will have the surgery on my eye muscles to correct my eyes turning in. Mommy and Daddy did lots of research (well, Mommy did) and they think that it is time to go through with it. My Vacation

I haven't written in a while because I was on a little vacation! I did lots of fun things. My cousin Rianne stayed the night and we had fun destroying Mommy's house. Rianne and I fought a little too, because she likes to tell me what to do but I don't like to listen to her. :o) That's us in the picture. I'm wearing my new shirt that says, "Am I rockin' my missing chromosome or what?" Also, on my vacation, I saw fireworks, went swimming, stayed up late, and went to Olive Garden and Dixie Crossroads. I have been very busy! Thanks to behavior therapy, I have been eating entire meals for Daddy, and I ate chocolate pudding for Papa too. Back to school tomorrow...I still don't eat for them!
