Happy Birthday Papa!

Yesterday was Papa's birthday so our family and Aunt Crystal's family took him to Cracker Barrel for dinner. I was happy to get out of the house for a while because all day Daddy and Uncle Shawn were building the new baby's room and all the commotion had me a little scatterbrained. But I was still in a pretty good mood all day!

In the store at Cracker Barrel I saw a very fun Christmas decoration. It was a snowglobe with Santa and Frosty inside, and when you push a button, it plays music, lights up, and snow blows around! I was very mad when I had to leave it in the store and go back to the table for dinner. I stared all the way through the restaurant into the store for a long time, and I made sure everyone knew I was still mad and I still remembered where the toy was. Of course, Papa finally gave in and went back into the store to buy the snowglobe. I always get very sad when Papa leaves, but Mommy said I must have known where he was going, because when he walked away, I smiled a big smile, laughed, and rubbed my hands together. Mommy says my "evil plan" was a success! =) I was very happy when Papa came back to the table with it turned on (after also purchasing batteries in the store and using a cashier's screwdriver to install them).

When I got up this morning, it was the first toy I went to, even though I was still in my sleepy shirt and had crazy bed head! I'm even still yawning in the beginning of the video! Thanks, Papa, for buying me a present for your birthday!

The New Baby

Yesterday, I went with Mommy and Daddy to their first doctor's appointment for the new baby. You should have seen me giving all the doctor and nurse the evil eye. I was convinced that we were there for me, especially since Mommy had a balloon waiting for me in the car when she picked me up from school. But she kept her promise and nobody messed with me at all! Just Mommy! Mommy and Daddy got to see video of the new baby, but I didn't watch. It was boring--no color, no sound, and hanging upside down in my stroller was much more entertaining. =) But here's the video anyway!

Hope Depot Trip

Yesterday I went shopping with Mommy and Daddy at Home Depot. We got most of the stuff we will need to build the wall and the closet for the new baby's room. Daddy's going to try and start building it next weekend. We loaded all the big stuff in Daddy's truck and all the little stuff in Mommy's car.

Daddy's truck sure was put to good use! There was a lot of weight in the truck, and there was no space between the truck and the tires. Daddy said he was reminiscing about when he had his lowered purple truck. =) We are all glad we managed to get everything home safely!

My Favorite Commercial

No it's not for a toy or even anything for my age group! But every time this commercial comes on the television, I stop what I am doing and stare very focused at the TV. Mommy's not sure I even blink while it's on. She tried to get right in front of my face to talk to me and I quickly pushed her out of the way without even losing my focus. See if you can figure out why I stare so intently at this commercial! =)

Daddy's Fishing Report

Today my Daddy and Uncle Shawn went fishing. They took Spike with them and had a fun day. Mommy met up with them a little later but she didn't catch anything. Oh well. She can't keep beating Daddy every time! The boys caught redfish, catfish, trout, ladyfish, mullet, snook, and a pufferfish. Not a lot of keepers in there, but there's one that sure was a nice one! Too BIG to keep! Mommy was so glad Uncle Shawn took some good pictures since she wasn't there!

A 44 inch redfish!! Daddy was so excited! Daddy did keep the mullet since he wants to try and cook it on his new smoker. Mommy says that's a lot of work for one fish, but we'll have to see how it turns out. When the mullet fell out of the net into the boat, Spike jumped right on it barking like crazy! See the mullet??

He also had fun with some needlefish that Uncle Shawn caught in the cast net.

My First Gym Class

Today Mommy and I went to my first official class at MyGym. I had lots of fun! Mommy tried to take videos to show all of you, but they wound up only being a few seconds long. By the time she'd hit record, I was already taking off to something else!

Mommy was very proud to see that I was preferring to walk instead of crawl. If I started to crawl, it was only for a few seconds, and then I remembered it's faster now for me to walk. So I would stand up (without using anything to help me!) and just start walking!

Part of the class was singing and clapping, and I didn't enjoy that too much. I didn't understand why we were wasting time sitting in a circle when there was so much to do! I kept standing up and walking away, and Mommy had to chase after me and bring me back. Finally it was time to play again, and it was the best part. The coaches hung rings from the ceiling, and we got to play with them! I loved it, and I was yelling and laughing. I walked around and around, and then I would let go and keep on walking! I thought it was VERY funny when the rings were swinging and they'd come back and bonk me in the head. I cracked up laughing every time.

We did tumbling on a mat, and I didn't quite see the point in that, really. But I got to swing hanging on to a rope, and that was a lot of fun. We were only supposed to get in line one or two times, but I took it upon myself to walk back to the coach when Mommy wasn't looking. =) There was also time for the parents to sit back so the kids could play with just the teachers and other children. "Separation" they called it. Mommy didn't think I'd care at all, so she wasn't worried. But then everytime I'd spot her looking at me, I'd stand up and walk all the way over to her with a big smile! Then she'd turn me around and send me right back.

During the separation play, the coaches brought out lots of fun little toys to play with. They had a set of soft blocks that I got for Christmas at home. Remember that video from a long time ago when I was crawling with my favorite red curved block sticking out of my mouth? I went right to it today too! =)

It's My Gym Now Too!

Mommy, Daddy, and Papa took me to a place called MyGym today. My friend Ansley goes with her mommy every week and they have a lot of fun. Ansley and her cousin Diego met us up there today so we could play together.

It was an open house with some special discounts for new members. Even though it was VERY crowded and loud (it's not usually like that), I had a good time playing! Mommy really enjoyed watching me walk from one place to another.

Mommy signed me up for classes and I am going to start going on Fridays. My class is called the "Waddlers," which is normally just for 14 to 22 month olds. But since I'm special, I get to be in there too!
